i liked the fact that he was taking a stab at discussing mental illness. that was his magnum opus just like sista souljah and the coldest winter. its hard to keep creating like that once you peak like that. I've read omar tyree's other books and nothing was as good at flyy girl. i should have took both those books as a cautionary tale but i had to find out my own way. those books got me into trouble because i wanted to be a flyy girl. changed my life for the good and the bad.įlyy girl i related to more but coldest winter ever made me open my eyes. then i saw all these girls reading flyy girl and the coldest winter ever on the bus and i had to go to the local book dude on the ave and get me a copy for 7 bucks.
